1. What are private messages? Private messages can only be exchanged between Club soFeminine members. They are a great way of making new friends in our online community!
2. What is the difference between a private message and an email? With our messaging service, you just need to enter the username of the person you want to contact and write your message. There's no need to ask them for their email address, which means you have a higher level of security. It's the perfect way to contact other members who do not have an email address.
3. Reading messages and being notified when you have a new ones : Reading your messages is very simple: - either click on "Messages", then "Inbox" - or click on the link in the email or on-screen message that you have chosen to notify you when you have a new message. If you have chosen the on-screen alert, it will appear to the bottom-left of your navigator if you receive a message whilst you are on soFeminine.
4. Sending a message : Sending messages is also very easy: - either click on the username of the member you wish to contact in one of their blogs, albums or forum posts... then write your message - or click on "Write a message" and enter the member's username in the box at the top of the form, or choose a name from your contact list As a security measure to prevent spamming, you have to enter a five-digit anti-spam code before sending each private message.
5. What to do if you no longer want to receive messages, or be notified when you have received new ones : You can choose whether or not you want to receive private messages, by clicking on "Options" in the left-hand column. As well as choosing whether or not you want to receive messages, you can also to choose to receive notification by email or on-screen alert every time you receive a private message. Your settings can be changed at any time.
6. Adding members to your blacklist if they are bothering you : You can also choose to blacklist any member who sends you messages that you don't want to receive. just click on "Blacklist this member" on their Profile page (which you can find by clicking into their username when in one of their albums, blogs or posts, or by searching in the Profile section). The "Blacklist this member" icon will also appear on their messages. Once you have added them to your list, they will no longer be able to send you messages.
7. Terms and Conditions : Never send offensive or inappropriate messages, including anything racist, aggressive, provocative, insulting or shocking. Spamming and commercial advertising is also unacceptable. The private messaging system is meant to help communication in the soFeminine online community: any member who breaks this code of conduct will find themselves no longer able to send and receive messages.
